Finish carpentry · Rockville, MD
The details people notice, and the ones they don't.
Finish carpentry in Rockville, MD is the woodwork people actually notice: the trim that frames a room,
the built-ins that make it work, the staircase you touch every day. It is also the work that is hardest
to fake, because gaps, soft miters, and proud joints show instantly. For 30+ years we
have built that detail level for homes across Rockville and the greater DC metro, and a
Master Carpenter stands on every job.
A remodel is a real investment, and the difference between fine and flawless lives in the last ten
percent: the reveals, the caulk lines, the way a cabinet door sits. That is the part we treat as the
whole point.
Fogg Carpentry & Design is a master-led shop licensed in Maryland under
MHIC #117288,
building finish carpentry across Rockville, Potomac, Bethesda, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, Washington DC,
and Arlington VA. It also pairs naturally with bigger work, like a built-in wall as part of
whole-home remodeling or custom cabinetry alongside a
kitchen remodel in Rockville.

Built to a standard most contractors skip.
Three decades of master carpentry, one accountable shop, and a finish you can read in the corners. Here is a look at some of what we have built.
Master Carpenter. Three decades of hands-on craft behind the Fogg name. The person who plans your project is the one who builds it.
Licensed & Accountable. Licensed in Maryland under MHIC #117288, the state's Home Improvement Commission license. One firm is responsible for the whole result.
Designed through Completion. We help shape the plan, suggest the details that make it better, and see it through to the final caulk line.
Absolutely wonderful experience and gorgeous craftsmanship. Everyone who walks into our house comments on the wainscoting Reon and his team did for us. The communication was the best we have had in the DMV, and they even finished earlier than planned.

Questions we hear a lot.
01What counts as finish carpentry?
It is the visible, detail-level woodwork: trim and molding, wainscoting and accent walls, built-in cabinetry and bookcases, staircases, mantels, and door and window casing. If it is the woodwork people notice and run their hand across, it is finish carpentry.
02Do you design the built-ins, or do I need my own drawings?
We design with you. We will suggest profiles, proportions, and storage details that suit the room, then produce shop drawings so you approve the design before we build a thing.
03What areas do you serve?
We are a small, master-led shop working across Rockville and the greater DC metro: Potomac, Washington DC, Arlington VA, Silver Spring, Gaithersburg, and the surrounding Montgomery County area.
04Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Fogg Carpentry & Design is licensed in Maryland under MHIC #117288, the Maryland Home Improvement Commission license that home-improvement contractors in the state are required to carry. One firm is accountable for the whole result.
05How do I get a price?
Every project is quote-based, because no two rooms are the same. Tell us what you have in mind and we will come look. The estimate is free, with no obligation.
06Do you stand behind the work?
Yes. One master-led shop is accountable for the whole result, and we do not consider a job done until you have walked the finished work with us and you are happy with it. If something is not right, we make it right.
