Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Fogg Carpentry & Design ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit foggcarpentry.com (the "Site") or request an estimate. We serve homeowners in Rockville and the greater Washington, DC metro area.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our estimate or contact form, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, phone number, email address, the type of project, an approximate budget range, and any project details you choose to share.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical data through cookies and similar technologies — such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at the Site (including click identifiers from ads). We use this to keep the Site working, measure traffic, and understand advertising performance.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, and prepare your estimate;
  • To communicate with you about your project;
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Site;
  • To measure and improve our advertising, including understanding which ads lead to inquiries;
  • To comply with the law and protect against fraud or abuse.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:

  • Service providers that help us operate — for example, email delivery, spreadsheet storage, and instant-message notifications used to receive and manage your inquiry, and our website hosting provider.
  • Advertising and analytics platforms. We use Google Analytics to measure Site traffic, and the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (Facebook/Instagram) to measure and improve our advertising. When you submit the form, a limited set of data — including a securely hashed (irreversible) version of your email and phone number — may be shared with Meta to match and attribute the conversion. This is used for advertising measurement and optimization, not to publicly identify you.
  • Legal reasons — if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

Cookies and your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on, and you can manage how Meta uses your data for ads in your Facebook/Instagram ad preferences. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the Site work.

Data retention

We keep the information you submit for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and carry out any resulting project, and as required for our records and legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
